At Noranda Uniting, we seek to connect and build relationships with our local neighbourhood by offering the use of the Noranda Uniting Church building to community groups of Noranda and its neighbouring suburbs.
Who Shares This Space?
Some of the groups that share this space with us are:
- Council of Churches WA
- Drama For Kids
- Girls Brigade
- Toddler Jam
- Teen Spirit
- Congregational Christian Church in Samoa
In offering our space, we have decided we want to operate under a framework of “host and guest” rather than “landlord and tenant”. As such, whenever a community group uses this space, a small host group will be present to say hello when the group’s facilitator arrives and be on hand for anything the group might need.
We do not charge rent for community groups to use our space, because we want to build community in this neighbourhood. However, we always offer the opportunity for a group to give a donation if they wish, but this is in no way obligatory.
Our dream is for the Noranda Uniting building to become a place for all the community to use.
